SUNDAY26th SEPTEMBER

Wycombe Town FC played their forth match of the season taking on FC Beaconsfield who will be one of the favorites to win the Premier this season. In a tight game FC Beaconsfield took the lead against a Wycombe Town team with only two of last years all conquering team available, by half time Town were 2-1 down but well in the game, both teams created good chances but it was FC Beaconsfield who made the pressure count towards the end of the game, coming out 5-2 winners. Towns goals were scored by Mark Nugent and Adam Davies.

TOWN TAME HAPPY UNION!

Wycombe Town FC got their season back on track with a convincing win over Happy Union. Town went 1-0 down but then dominated the the game and went on to win 6-1. With several new faces in the first team, Town played some bright passing football and were very effective up front with the pairing of Mark Nugent and Scott Webb making several scoring chances. Jonny Mason and Ross Middleton drove the Midfield and Vinny Cuva, Guy Walters marshalled the defence. As the game progressed Union were restricted to counter attacks and did not capitalise on the chances they created. Mark 'Rasta' Nugent got 3 goals, Jonny Mason 2 and Steve Perry 1.

NEW MANAGEMENT TEAM!

Wycombe Town FC have appointed last seasons succesfull Reserve team managers Ray Mason and Peter Barnes as first team managers. Ray and Peter took last seasons Reserve team to win Division One, to be semi-finalsts in the League Challenge Cup, win the Chesham Charity Cup and to the Semi-final of the Berks and Bucks Junior Cup. After their first team achieving the League and Cup Double for the last three years, Wycombe Town FC have had a complete re-organisation this season and have withdrawn their Reserves and 'A' team from the league and are looking to re-organise the playing squad and build up again for the future. We have a solid foundation of established players and new players are always welcome.

SUNDAY 12th SEPTEMBER

With several new faces Wycombe Town played FC Beacons Bottom at Holtspur and in a tight game which could have gone either way, Town lost 2-1 after missing a penalty for the second time in two weeks.

PROSPECTS LOOKING GOOD!

First week of the season is always a difficult time and with several players on holiday and with players injured, both the first and reserve teams had a new look with several players making their debuts and other players making a welcome return! Both teams lost 2-1 but should have come away with a victory, the first team went 1-0 up early on through Ross Middleton and then they missed a penalty. Town were dominating all the play but unfortunatly they then conceded to a keeper error for Chinnors first goal, Ross Middleton had a powerfull shot hit the post but the defence got caught late in the game on a breakaway conceeding an unstoppable shot. The Reserves went 1-0 down early on against FC Beaconsfield Reserves pulled back to 1-1 but conceed a late goal to lose 2-1.

SUNDAY 5th SEPTEMBER

In the first games of the season this Sunday, Wycombe Town first team visit Chinnor and the Reserves are at home to FC Beaconsfield reserves.
