WEEKEND RESULTS

WYCOMBE TOWN FC 5-0 Chinnor Exiles

WYCOMBE TOWN FC opened up the new season against Chinnor
Exiles who had beaten Town 4-2 in this fixture last year, Town
were looking to avenge that defeat and get off to a strong start
which they duly did.It took just 5 minutes to break the deadlock,
Scott Webb latched onto Mason's through ball and fired home
through the keeper.

Town then played some lovely free flowing football and it was no
surprise when they doubled their lead on 20 minutes when a glorious
cross field ball from Ayres was taken down and slotted home by
Ross Middleton. Town were unable to keep up the tempo of their
early play and went into half time two up.

It wasn't long into the second half when the game was effectively
over as Town added a third, Mason's shot was diverted into the net
by debutant Andrew Nicol who was thrilled to grab his first goal for the club.

This gave Town some breathing space and they were able to make
some changes and give some new faces a run, one of them made an
immediate impact adding the fourth. Jonny Mason rounded the
keeper and smashed the ball towards goal from a seemingly
impossible angle, a Chinnor defender reacted by saving on the
line with his hand but another debutant, 16 year old Billy Mason
was first on hand to head home into the empty net and save
the referee from dismissing the Chinnor player.

Chris Ayres then rounded off a very impressive display by curling
a 20 yard free kick into the top corner.
