Sundays Action
For their Trip to Bristol, Wycombe Town were missing seven 1st team regulars from the starting XI, who took the field in the last round of The FA Carlsberg National Sunday Cup, in their 5-3 win against Kerria Sports. Town had to dig deep and showed that they have got depth in quality within the squad and battled away to sneak the result 2-1. Hanham FC from Bristol, who were semi finalists last year, took a 5th minute lead, Town hit back a few minutes later through Nathan Richards. The game was then pretty even, three or four chances were spurned at both ends, Anthony Cooper in our goal came to Towns rescue on more than one occasion before with 2 minutes to go, sub Scott Webb, making his first appearance of the season for the first team, volleyed in an absolute wonder goal from the edge of the box to win the game when it looked like extra time was looming. Wycombe Town are now through to the last 16 where they can now draw anyone in the country, the first three rounds were regionalised.
