'YOUTH TEAM CUP WIN!'

With Wycombe Town FC's Premier league match with King George V frozen off, it was 'Towns' youth team who took center stage!
Wycombe Town AFC’s met old adversaries Blackstone Kites in a Cup Match on Sunday. ‘Kites’ were always going to provide stiff opposition and a competitive game, especially in the frosty conditions. With ‘Town’ improving as the season has progressed, they were still chasing that elusive first win, the game started well with ‘Town’ in full flow, moving the  ball quickly through the opposition with neat passing and dynamic wing  play. After intense pressure from ‘Town’ forcing six or seven corners and many scoring chances, Greg O’Hara finally popped up to powerfully head the first goal to make it 1-0 at half time.  Blackstone Kites were right back in the game as the second half started, scoring almost straight from the kick off to even the score. That seemed to create a spark for ‘Town’ and attack after attack followed, eventually the pressure counted and Dan Mason weaved through their defence and slid the ball left footed past the goalkeeper. ‘Town’ continued to press and it paid off again with O’Hara getting his second to make the final score 3-1 and book ‘Towns’ place in the next round with a well deserved win. Both teams should be congratulated on trying to play good football in difficult conditions

Disappointing Loss!

Wycombe Town FC visited Shelly Road to play Masters in the Premier division and disappointingly lost 9-1. Top of the league Masters played some excellent football and an improving Town found them hard to contain. 'Town' had their chances but could not get the ball into the net, apart from a 'goal of the match' shot scored by 'Town's' current 'top shot' Liam Holder. Training continues at Wye Valley School Astroturf on Wednesdays 7.20 meet for 7.30 start, existing and new players welcome..see you there!!!.

FC D&B 1 v WYCOMBE TOWN FC 1

Wycombe Town FC travelled to Holmer Green to play FC D&B in a Premier Division match. 'Town' started well playing good passing football and producing telling through balls to create some good shooting chances. FC D&B who were tending to rely on the counter attacks, were always in the game and also created some good scoring opportunities. On one of many 'Town' attacks, they built the play well and Simon Bochenski found Micheal Butcher with a great through ball and 'Butch' slotted the ball past the keeper into the net to make it 0-1 at half time.

The second half followed the pattern of the first and was very even with both sides creating chances and defending well, midway through the half FC D&B managed to get a goal back to make it 1-1 and both side had late chances to win the game. 'Towns' Richard Smale made a fantasic save and Paul Godwin cleared off the line, 'Town' could also have wrapped it up late on when they had a couple of 'one on ones' with the FC D&B keeper who manged to get the ball away.
