WEEKEND RESULTS
Barn Club FC 0-8 WYCOMBE TOWN FC
A wet and windy Holmers Farm played host to this top of the table clash Sunday morning as the only two unbeaten sides in the Premier League came head to head. Barn Club had won 4 and drawn 3 of their 7 games whileTown boasted a 100% record from their 9 games and held a 12 point lead over Barn Club going into the game.
Town started brightly and spurned several chances before they took the lead on the quarter hour, good work from Webb on the right he laid the ball forward to Nicol who outmuscled the Barn Club left back before laying across a centre which Adam Paget powered home. Chances came and went before Nugent made it two ten minutes later, beating Barn Club's offside trap to waltz around the keeper, dummy the onrushing defender before smashing the ball home. Nugent then quickly made it three when he was first to respond after a deflected looping Mason shot could only be scooped out by Buller in the Barn Club goal.
Barn Club were shellshocked and Town were picking them off at will and they made it 4 on the stroke of half time as Billy Mason followed up to slot home after Paget had seen his effort saved by Buller.
After spurning a three goal lead last week Town were anxious to avoid a repeat and started the second half explosively, Paget and Barnes combined down the right to lay in Nicol whose flick teed up Nugent who was hacked to the ground for a penalty, Nugent picked himself and
confidentally stroked the ball home to complete his hat trick and then hobbled off to be replaced by Delroy Howell.
The tempo dropped a bit but it was Howell himself who grabbed a sixth when Buller spilled an Ayres shot in slippery conditions, Howell steadied himself before tapping home.
Vinny Cuva came on for the last twenty minutes and helped himself to a quick double to complete the rout. The final score was 8-0 and if truth be told it could have been a lot more, Town hadn't been playing very well over the last few weeks but came good when it really matted in testing conditions against the team that were 2nd and really up for the
game we put in our best performance of the season so far.

WYCOMBE TOWN FC RESERVES 1-7 Beacons Bottom FC
Reserves met a good team in Beacons Bottom who are Premier bound, although the 7-1 scoreline did not reflect the closeness on the pitch, our goal scorer was Wayne Norris.

WYCOMBE TOWN FC 5-0 Chinnor Exiles
WYCOMBE TOWN FC opened up the new season against Chinnor
Exiles who had beaten Town 4-2 in this fixture last year, Town
were looking to avenge that defeat and get off to a strong start
which they duly did.It took just 5 minutes to break the deadlock,
Scott Webb latched onto Mason's through ball and fired home
through the keeper.
Town then played some lovely free flowing football and it was no
surprise when they doubled their lead on 20 minutes when a glorious
cross field ball from Ayres was taken down and slotted home by
Ross Middleton. Town were unable to keep up the tempo of their
early play and went into half time two up.
It wasn't long into the second half when the game was effectively
over as Town added a third, Mason's shot was diverted into the net
by debutant Andrew Nicol who was thrilled to grab his first goal for the club.
This gave Town some breathing space and they were able to make
some changes and give some new faces a run, one of them made an
immediate impact adding the fourth. Jonny Mason rounded the
keeper and smashed the ball towards goal from a seemingly
impossible angle, a Chinnor defender reacted by saving on the
line with his hand but another debutant, 16 year old Billy Mason
was first on hand to head home into the empty net and save
the referee from dismissing the Chinnor player.
Chris Ayres then rounded off a very impressive display by curling
a 20 yard free kick into the top corner.

SIX-A-SIDE GLORY
Wycombe Town Make it 4 Years in a row.
The Wycombe Town FC overcame pre-tournament controversy to win the finals of the annual Cressex 6 a-side competition for the 4th year running. Wycombe Town finished top of the league level on points with Beaconsfield Megastars, but with a far superior goal difference. For reasons unknown the League title was shared between both teams.
In the finals, Town started strong against unpredictable opponents AFC Barnes with a comfortable 4-1 win. Town were missing a couple of key regulars and called upon Scott Webb for the extra support. Goals from the Mason Brothers and a true class solo effort from Andy Barnes secured the win. Wycombe then beat Tring West End 4-1 which almost guaranteed Town with a top finish and final place. AFC Barnes drew with Italia Unita, this ensured that Town could not be caught and secured their final spot with a game to play.
Keeping their unbeaten record, Town beat Italia Unita in their final league game, running out 3-0 winners enjoying most of the play with more goals from the Mason brothers. A nil-nil draw between AFC Marlow and Beaconsfield Megastars in the other group, saw the league runners–up in the final with Town.
In the final, Beaconsfield enjoyed some early play but found it hard to contain Town and chased the ball for much of the 1st half. A rare attack from Beaconsfield in the 2nd half was broken down and a counter attack saw Town flood the opposing half in numbers. The class of Mason shone through with an unstoppable strike from the left hand side which found the opposite top corner. Beaconsfield tried their hardest to apply some pressure late on but with the Town defence organised and strong, the opposition found no way through.
It was a great success this year for Town who played some excellent flowing football and notched up some truly breathtaking team goals. A strong controlled performance from Ross Middleton at the back and the organisational experience from Andy Barnes in midfield, were key to the success. Final congratulations to Johnny Mason, who for the third year running picked up the competition top goals scorer award.

REFLECTING ON LAST SEASON
Although we did not win any silver ware, last season was still very good for the club .
The 1st team played some very good football, came 2nd in the Priemier Divison and reached the Semi-finals in the County and League cups.
The Reserves looked good early season but faded midway, coming strong at the end of the season courtesy of our younger leigon of players.
The ‘A’ team were right up with the leaders towards the end of the season and promotion was on the cards , but to many draws cost the team dearly..
We believe the coming season is right for us to claim our overdue success. We have been close for a number of seasons and now is the time to go for glory!
